SAFETY FIRST: Suit up for safe handling practices! That means goggles, gloves and long sleeves. Always soap in a well-ventilated area.
Method
- Disperse the Seaweed Powder into the Oils once melted but before adding the Lye. Stir until there are no chunks.
- Slowly add the lye water to the oils and stick blend until thin trace.
- Add the Essential Oil blend, and whisk until completely blended in.
- Use a spoon or spatula to add the soap batter to the mould. Tap the mould firmly on the counter to help get rid of bubbles. Use a spatula to spread it equally on the top. Then, use the spoon to create texture. Have Fun!
- Lastly sprinkle the Botanicals over the top. With Any botanicals I don’t cover the top of the Soap whist it Saponifies, this can cause the Botanicals to burn and brown.
- Allow the soap to stay in the mould for about 16-24hr or until its firm enough to remove from the mould.
- Unmould and cut into bars. Allow to cure for 4-6 weeks.
